Firstly, the sealed copy which was sold by needles-and-pins-dressmakers for £1,019, apparently did not sell. The seller claims:

“The guy who won has just contacted me saying he hasn’t got the money!!! and I had to cancel the bids for the second highest bidder (nic4753) because someone warned me he was dodgy”

Clearly this well-known bidder and collector’s reputation for doing chargebacks is following him around, despite making a staggering 18 bids out of a total of 27 on this single auction!

Secondly, the sealed copy offered by  fellow SGH member, natarsis, eventually sold for £875, although at the time of writing it is unknown whether or not the winning buyer has made a payment

Another copy also surfaced, which turns out is the same copy which was initially bought by Frozentoast for £149.75; Traded with Happyheed (For a sealed PAL copy of Super Mario All-Stars); And then sold to Nintendoguy for £1,100. The seller then listed it on eBay this week with a Buy It Now of £1,100, lowered to £900, and gradually to its final selling price of £785 – Although it exhibited various signs of cellophane wear and tear…

It also appears that yet another sealed copy has surfaced, this time from seller mrose2236, and is running as an active auction which finishes on the 21st of November at 17:44:24 GMT

It seems as if though collector’s are playing a sealed FFVII version of “Musical chairs” at the moment, with prices fluctuating each time they’re passed around. There are also concerns and rumours that these copies with clear tearstrips could also be professional reseals, hence why many collector’s are reluctant to hold onto them for very long…

The first was a Buy It Now, which initially sold for £149.75, and then later changed hands twice – Firstly as a trade for a factory sealed copy of Super Mario All-Stars (SNES); and then shortly after for the sum of £1,100 (Sold privately here on SGH)

The second seen was a Buy It Now for £1,999.99 – Later lowered to £1,500.00 – (Offered by a fellow SGH member, natarsis), until the seller decided to pull the auction for reasons unknown. This is a reappearance of another copy previously seen on eBay sold by the same seller as the copy above

The third spotted was an auction which ended on the 11th of November 2009, at 22:44:45 GMT (Sold by needles-and-pins-dressmakers) . This copy had a staggering 27 bids from six unique collector’s, and eventually sold for £1,019.00!

And now a fourth copy has recently appeared for sale as a £3,999.99 Buy It Now – Later lowered to £3,000.00 – (From seller 8457darren), listed for ten days only. No ‘Make Offer’  option, just a straight Buy It Now

All four copies above come sealed with a clear tearstrip, rather than the official PlayStation tearstrip. To date, only one such example is known to exist complete with PlayStation tearstrip (Owned by a member of our forum, docmanhattan), as can be seen on our forum!

So far, sealed copies of the standard edition of the game have been listed as one-day auctions and feature next-day shipping to ensure buyers receive their copy on either Saturday 7th or Monday 9th, ahead of the November 10th release date!

Auction 1) Seller collingburn ( 46) listed a copy which ended at 13:18:14 GMT, in time to be shipped via next-day delivery, and most likely arrive Saturday morning! It sold for £80.00 GBP with 25 bids!

Auction 2) Seller pitzyzy ( 214) listed a copy which ended at 21:36:48 GMT, which still qualifies it to be shipped Saturday next-day delivery and will most likely arrive Monday  morning! It sold for £72.00 GBP with 16 bids!

EuroGamer.net recently reported that The Hut are the guilty party here, and had been advised by the Royal Mail to ship the game on Thursday to guarantee a Tuesday delivery due to pending strikes, but strike action was called off at the last minute Thursday evening resulting in many gamers receiving their ordered copies on Friday morning ahead of schedule! Lucky them!

All three are Buy It Now’s, ranging from £49.99 to £60.00 (With Best Offer), with one auction being a charity auction in aid of the Animal Lifeline charity, which is dedicated to rescuing and re-homing abandoned dogs and puppies.
