Heres my PS2 collection. Ive been buying them here and there all year, and got lucky with a few nice bundles this month.

My collection goals are Black case releases & 505 Gamestreet releases. Black cases take priority. 505 Games intrigue me as they released a lot of great japanese titles for the PS2 inc. some ace shmups and JRPG's.

This first post showcases my black case collection & the second post is 505 Gamestreet.

505 Games collection. Most of the library of these are quite uncommon used, so sealed ones in full english are tricky to come by for the most part. Still got some nice shmups to go like Dragon Blaze & Tengai but they are hard to find english language.

You are still missing lots of RPG's!

My favs are,

5 - Maximo
4 - Sky Odyssey
3 - Wild arms 3
2 - Jade Cocoon 2
1 - SOS the final escape (very popular title @ Japan, try to find Raw danger, its the second part!)

Nice,unusual stuff :good:

I'll second that comment! A nice looking collection of the obscure! Certainly not the kind of titles you'd expect a collector to have, especially for a collection of this size! :o

There's not many collector's I know who would have the guts to collect these kind of games, let alone show them off and be proud! Xed is the only other collector I know who likes to collect these kind of titles (Midas and Phoenix games, as well as 505). I personally have a small collection of Army Men games that I don't really brag about ;)

On the other hand, you also have a bunch of super rare titles that would probably fall into the "one of a kind" category. There's a ton of titles above that I've never seen in sealed condition, many of which are either Capcom or Koei titles.

Speaking of Koei games, you're probably already aware that they are much like Konami games and virtually impossible to find in sealed condition. Some titles are easier to find than others (Dynasty Tactics 2, for example), but many Koei games tend to only receive one small print run and are tailored for the fans rather than the mainstream. The NIS games are mostly published by Koei, which makes them doubly interesting for you to collect as an existing NIS collector :)

The original black / navy case is a great focus, and excuses any sports titles in the same way PS1 collectors highly regard early full cover titles regardless of genre. It's an amazing collection considering how short of a time you've been collecting PS2 games!

I'm actually surprised at how many titles above I don't own and should! There's probably only half a dozen titles there that I do own, but would gladly add most of these to my own collection!

However, you'll regret the few obscure gems you sold in order to make these such a great bargain. You'll most likely never see these titles again, and given the choice I would have held onto them myself and sold some of the cheaper common games that could be more easily replaced at a later date...

Awesome collection, Gary! My favorite is Viewtiful Joe 2 - I freaking love the artwork from that series. Also, wtf is Paparazzi?

Thanks for your comments GP, means a lot coming from you :cuddle:

I agree with the black case titles, i dont mind if they are football, if they are mint in a black case ill accept them into the collection. I dont think there are too many sports titles in black cases anyway so it isnt going to be too bad :)

I only sold a small amount, a couple were very nice titles but i was willing to make the sacrifice in order to get a ton more for the collection. It was the only way to come up with the money to buy more ultra bundles you see :friends:

Paparazzi is some kind of perverted japanese wackiness. You have to sneak around and take candid pics of girls in order to impress them and lure them in

wow, I was right. I think it was around 2001 when Squaresoft turned to Square Enix.
I think next to Bouncer and FF X the only SquareSOFT title for PS2?

Sure...505 games games (hehe, that is funny) are very collectable. And phoenix games have also a low printed run, so they will be rare in future.
Furthermore they are kind of obscure

Tsk tsk. You're forgetting the obvious - Kingdom Hearts (with the ELSPA rating) was originally a SquareSOFT title. It was shortly afterwards when they changed to Square-ENIX, and all subsequent releases of KH were branded with Square-Enix, including the Platinum versions :shades:
