I was late to the PlayStation party, buying mine around Xmas 1997. By this time the double jewel cased games were being hased out, and replaced by the now traditional style PlayStation cases. It was also around this time that I remember the Platinum series started, as I struggled to find certain first print black label versions of some games such as Crash Bandicoot, Grand Theft Auto, Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Resident Evil, Loaded etc. I distinctly remember having a choice between either gutted shop-soiled double jewel case black label versions, or sealed Platinum versions. I chose the Platinum versions...

A few double jewel case games I do remember buying sealed back in the day include Doom, Fear Effect 1 & 2, Final Fantasy VII (Platinum), Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, Galarians, Metal Gear Solid (Platinum), and The X-Files. I stupidly passed up paying the extra tenner for the limited editions of both FF8 and Metal Gear Solid. In hindsight, I feel a bit silly for passing on these, little did I know I would go on to become a huge collector! At the time I was only 17 and I was trying to save what little money I was actually earning at the time

Ever since I started collecting sealed games and keeping them sealed, I haven't come across too many double jewel cased PAL PlayStation games. Finding them to begin with is hard enough, but finding them without cracked cases or loose discs is even harder! I only own four sealed examples: Fear Effect 2, Koudelka, Metal Gear Solid Special Missions, and Tempest X3.

I actually bought Galarians during my sealed collecting reign, but had to unseal it because the cellophane was in bad shape (mis-described by the eBay seller) and the discs were all loose.

Just to revive this thread, here are my double jewel case games, and assuming we are only posting sealed pictures:

PAL

NTSC-U/C

Although I would think that the NTSC equivalent to our PAL double jewel cases would perhaps be the early longbox titles...
