Random Sealed Soundtracks

Postby LuxKiller65 on Thu Mar 12, 2009 9:29 am

I remember being the only one collecting sealed soundtracks on the old forum, so I'll post some pictures here from time to time. Let me know if you have any questions about old soundtracks - I'll be glad to help!

Some Castlevania 64 and Dracula X Remixes posing together:

Thanks! Castlevania 64 has a very good soundtrack, especially "Dungeon - Main Theme", "Tower of Science", "Tower of Execution", "Toothed Wheel" and "Credits" (which may sound like the Main Theme but is much longer and with a different melody at the end). As for Dracula X Remixes... they're dance/club remixes of some Symphony of the Night tracks; nothing special but I still like it a lot. By the way, they misspelled "Remixes" as "Remixies" - dumbasses.

Here are my sealed (yes, that crappy ultra-thin shrinkwrap is what they used for double cases) Akumajo Dracula Best 2. Does anyone spot the difference?

The catalog numbers are different: KICA-7506~7 for the top one and LC-039~40 for the bottom one. The first one is the commercial first print that was available in stores while the second one is a production sample as far as I know. It's missing the release date, other copyrights and details on the obi and the back of the case. Pretty interesting for a Castlevania collector.

And here's the only Japan-released Turok soundtrack:

Violence Killer: Turok New Generation, very hard to find - especially sealed. I had been looking for it for over a year and it's finally there.

Then you'll be surprised to learn they made three soundtracks, one for each Wizardry Gaiden episode! They're mostly arrangements though, they couldn't have filled much of the CD with the original songs.

I'm pretty happy about the SMB3 one, I had never seen the obi before, very stylish. CD has only 34 minutes of music, and the original soundtrack is "compressed" into one single track (they used to do like this back then).

The SMB3 Soundtrack is cool, the cover looks great. :good2:
I just thought today about how long those Video Game Soundtrack CD's will be playable.

Shrinkwrap is y-folded, and it's the first time I see a strip which says CDTA all over it - probably the company which manufactured the plastic and other parts of the object, not sure though.

Something I had dreamt for a long time... factory sealed Dracula Battle and Dracula Battle II. For those who may be wondering, yes, King Records used both vertical and horizontal strips. Dracula Battle II is a sample, which probaly explains the folded obi.
